Abilities for a Technological World: Using and Maintaining Systems
practice
Apply: Computer Diagnostics

Computers, automobiles, household appliances, and non-consumer products include systems that provide a level of self maintenance. Your computer includes different diagnostic and maintenance programs that can be used to optimize your computer system.

In this part of the lesson, you will run a computer diagnostic to determine the impact on your computer's performance. You are not asked to submit any assignment here, or to post results to a discussion board.

On a PC, you may:

Right Click on your My Computer icon, and then right click on your hard drive icon to select Properties from the context menu. In the Properties dialogue box that opens, you can select Disk Cleanup from the General tab. Cleaning and optimizing your hard drive can save a lot of space and improve system performance.
