The lesson presentation provided information about collecting and evaluating information. Sometimes it is very difficult to determine if a resources is reliable or not. This is most often the case with web sites. Anyone can create their own web site and post basically anything they want on the web. How do you know if a web site is credible or not? Can you trust the information you are getting from this source?

Wikipedia logoTake Wikipedia for example. Wikipedia is a popular web site that many people use as a resources. What some people don't realize is that the entries on Wikipedia can be created and edited by anyone. If another user does not question or disprove the entry it remains online and people interpret this information as fact.

You will now participate in a debate about the credibility of Wikipedia. Follow the directions below to complete this assignment.

Assignment: Create a post on the Debate: Wikipedia Discussion Board. The first person to post gets to pick their stance. Every post following the original must take the opposite stance from the last post on the board. Your reply post must use a different supporting argument than the one you used in your original post. You will be graded on the following:

Original Post:
- Begin your SUBJECT line with either the word "Credible" or "Not Credible" to indicate your stance. (3 points)
- 3-5 sentences supporting the stance you chose.(7 points)

Reply Post:
- Begin your SUBJECT line with either the word "Agree" or "Disagree" to indicate your stance. (3 points)
- 3-5 sentences supporting the stance you chose.(7 points)
