- In a word document, develop a list of 5 different
symptoms (i.e. sore throat, fever, blurred vision, etc.). Try to keep
the symptoms in the same area of the body to produce an actual illness.
If you like, you can use symptoms from a time when you were actually
sick.
- Go to the symptom checker on WebMD using this link. http://symptoms.webmd.com/symptomchecker
- Select male or female and the age of you the person
you are diagnosing. Re
cord this information in your word document. You
do not need to enter a zip code.
- Enter your 5 symptoms into the symptom checker by
clicking on the part of the body where the symptom occurs and selecting
the appropriate symptom from the provided list.
- After entering all the symptoms you selected, record
the number of possible conditions related to your symptoms in your word
document.
- If your number of possible conditions is over 20 continue
to add symptoms to your list and to the symptom checker until you are
below 20.
- Record a list of the possible conditions in your word
document.
- Select the 5 conditions that are closest to
the illness you were trying to describe and provide a brief explanation(2-3
sentences) of each condition.
Assignment: Follow the steps above
to create a summary of your use of WebMD's symptom checker. When you
have created the document submit it to the Symptom Checker
Drop box. You will be graded on the following.
-List of five symptoms (5 points)
-List of and number of possible conditions (5 points)
-Explanation of 5 conditions closest related to the symptoms you were
