Abilities for a Technological World: Use and Maintain Systems

Lesson Overview

In this lesson you will learn the importance of using and maintaining technological systems. Technological systems can be large or small, simple or complex. Regardless of size or complexity these systems need to be regularly maintained and properly used.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Develop the ability to use and maintain technological products and systems. (ITEA 12)
    • Document processes and procedures and communicate them to different audiences using appropriate oral and written technologies. (ITEA 12-L)
    • Diagnose a system that is malfunctioning and use tools, materials, machines, and knowledge to repair it. (ITEA 12-M)
    • Troubleshoot, analyze, and maintain systems to ensure safe and proper function and precision (ITEA 12-N)
    • Operate systems so that they function in the way they were designed (ITEA 12-O)
