practiceProblem Statement: In this project, you are a travel agent planning a travel itinerary for a round-the-world vacation that involves multiple modes of transportation and uses the Internet as a planning tool to determine the route and cost for your trip.

Background: Over the past century, travel to distant parts of the world has evolved from impossible to common place. Many distant travel destinations involve multiple means of transportation (multimodal). The Internet provides tools to plan, track, and compare travel options. This project explores the use of Internet technology and available multimodal transportation systems to circumvent the globe.

Directions (Overview)

Briefly, each student will:

  1. Determine a route to travel around the world, from door to door.
  2. You must make a stop every day, and use multiple means of transportation.
  3. Your travel plans should minimize cost and time.
  4. Although a sample itinerary is provided, you should change this to reflect your optimized trip.
