Foundations of Technology
Design: Technological Design Model (TDM)

Lesson Overview

How technologically literate do you feel? So far throughout the course you have been introduced the many ways technology affects your life. This lesson will provide you an opportunity to apply some of the skills you have obtained so far and see how “technologically fit” you are.

Learning Outcomes:

Develop an understanding of the attributes of design (ITEA 8) and apply the design process (ITEA 11)

  • The design process is clearly defined, iterative and creative process. (ITEA 8-H)
  • Identify the design problem. (ITEA 11-M)
  • Identify criteria and constraints and determine how these will affect the design process. (ITEA 11-N)
  • Refine a design to ensure quality, efficiency, and productivitiy of the product. (ITEA 11-O)
  • Develop and produce a product or system using a design process. (ITEA 11-Q)
  • Evaluate solution, share results. (ITEA 11-R)
